Professor Breed has extensive experience as an entrepreneur, C-suite executive, sales executive, and management consultant. John is passionate about teaching, technology, building client relationships, mentoring students, and growing companies.

John began his career as a management trainee with a regional LTL trucking firm in Atlanta. In less than four years, he rose to be the Vice President of Sales and the youngest officer in the company’s 60+ year history. Before becoming an entrepreneur, John Breed worked for several years at IBM as a Management Consultant with expertise in IT strategy, IT implementations, supply chain optimization, and change management. John was a consultant on multiple major projects, including the Hershey Company, Essex Wire, and United States Army. As an entrepreneur, John has started, led, and sold numerous successful businesses, including e-commerce, food service, printing, and graphic design firms. Noteworthy Collections, Inc., John’s previous firm, was a significant custom designer, printer, and manufacturer of gift and stationery products. Noteworthy Collection’s products were sold in over 1200+ retail outlets, including Neiman Marcus, Barnes and Nobles, and Tiny Prints. A publicly traded online retailer acquired his firm, Noteworthy Collections. Currently, Professor Breed is a Senior Manager at Deloitte focused on government innovation, teaching courses in E-Commerce Strategy, Experiences in Entrepreneurship (I, II), and Foundations of Entrepreneurship. He has developed university courses in Mobile Application Development, Go-To-Market Strategies, Advanced Application Development, Entrepreneurial Emerging Technologies, and E-commerce Strategies.

Professor Breed has spoken at numerous events, including TEDx (Career Resiliency), Synapse (Mitigating Startup Failure), and others.
